Dr. Gallia Lindenstrauss: Israel – Turkey Relations – Diplomatic Fallout ?

Turkey and Israel expelled each other’s envoys on Tuesday in an escalating diplomatic dispute over the death 60 Palestinians during protests on the Gaza border. The Turkish Foreign Ministry ordered Israeli Ambassador Eitan Naeh to leave the country for consultations for an undetermined period of time. In response, Israel ordered the Turkish consul in Jerusalem, Husnu Gurcan Turkoglu, who is responsible for Turkey’s relations with the Palestinians, to return home for consultations. 
Dr. Gallia Lindenstrauss will analyze the relations between the two countries.Dr. Gallia Lindenstrauss is a research fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies and a visiting fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center. She specializes in Turkish foreign policy. Her additional research interests are ethnic conflicts, Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, the Cyprus issue, and the Kurds. She has written extensively on these topics and her commentaries and op-eds have appeared in all of the Israeli major media outlets, as well as in international outlets. Dr. Lindenstrauss completed her Ph.D. in the Department of International Relations at Hebrew University. She formerly lectured at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and at the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya,​ and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute for International Relations at the Hebrew University.
