Following the ongoing tensions along the Israel Gaza border this summer, there was a heightened escalation on Wednesday. In the afternoon the IDF closed several roads near the Gaza border after warning that it was concerned of a retaliatory attack by Hamas. In the evening, a barrage of rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel. Some of the rockets landed in Sderot injuring three Israelis and the IDF confirmed they are launching retaliatory airstrikes into Gaza.
Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman is right now meeting with senior officers from the Israeli military.
