Pre-Paris Peace Conference: Briefing with Tzipi Hotovely, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

January 11, 2017PAST EVENT

International pressure on Israel and the Palestinians to renew the peace talks has been increasing rapidly recently. It started with the Security Council’s controversial resolution concerning the illegality of settlements (23 Dec.), continued with John Kerry’s “Six Points” speech (28 Dec.) and will reach its peak at the Paris Peace Conference on the 15th of January.

The Paris Peace Conference comes just as Israel begins to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1967 War (the Six-Day War) and is seen by some as the ultimate opportunity to influence Israel’s policy regarding Judea and Samaria. Deputy Minister Hotovely addressed those recent efforts, concentrating on the Paris Conference, and presented the government’s position on the matter.

Tzipi Hotovely serves as a member of the Knesset for the Likud party, and as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2015.
