July 8th marks the one-year anniversary of Operation Tzuk Eitan (Protective Edge), the 50-day armed conflict in the Gaza Strip. Despite the cessation of the hostilities, residents of the Gaza border communities are still coping with ‘tiftufim’, sporadic rockets fired from Gaza.
The tour will explore the military lessons the IDF learned from last summer’s conflict and how the residents who live in close proximity to the Gaza border view their future security and a briefing about Hamas.
The tour includes:
Security briefing with an IDF commander at the site of an exposed Hamas tunnel
Meeting leaders and residents of border communities in the Eshkol region
Strategic briefing about Hamas with Dr. Uri Rosset, expert on counter-terrorism & Middle East affairs
Kibbutz lunch
TV crews: one-on-one interviews can be arranged with the speakers for a limited number of TV crews. Please indicate your interest in the registration form.
The tour is limited in space due to the sensitive nature of some of the briefings.
