One Year After Soleimani’s Killing: Will Iran Retaliate? With Eliezer Tzafrir, Former Head of the Mossad Spy Agency’s Station in Iran

January 3 marks the one year anniversary of the assassination of Iranian Quds Force chief Qasem Soleimani in a US drone strike in Baghdad. The targeted killing further raised tensions between Washington and Tehran, which has vowed to respond, possibly against Israeli targets. Eliezer Tzafrir will discuss the probability of a flare up and its potential impact on regional stability. He will also address Israel’s preparedness to prevent and counter attacks by Iranian proxies across the Middle East. Tzafrir is a former senior official in the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Mossad, in which he headed stations in Iran, Iraqi Kurdistan and Lebanon. Tzafrir also served as an Arab affairs advisor to former Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Shamir.
