Tel Aviv has been known for years as a leading destination for LGBT tourists; in 2014, CNN named the city one of the world’s best gay honeymoon destinations. Following the success of the annual summer Gay Pride parades, the Tel Aviv municipality is holding the first-ever winter “Nonstop Summer” Gay Festival. Join us to learn about (and enjoy) various aspects of the LGBT community of Tel Aviv during the festival.
Our field tour included:
Briefings with city representatives
Meetings with leaders & members of the gay community
A visit to the gay center/theater in Gan Meir, including meeting one of the actors
Meeting with youth from the LGBT movement “IGI”
A visit to a local gay bar and conversation with the owners
MediaCentral has arranged special seats for that evening’s one-woman performance of “Mr. Nice Guy”, a modern dance exploration of gender identity at 9pm at the gay center. Interested journalists can attend, or join one the festival’s other activities or simply enjoy the TLV night scene.
