Following the historic ceremony in Washington, Israel and Bahrain will sign a declaration on the establishment of peace and diplomatic relations in the latter’s capital, Manama. Middle East and Gulf States expert Dr. Shaul Yanai will discuss the significance of the interim agreement and other related issues. Dr. Shaul Yanai specializes in the Persian Gulf states. He is the author of the book: The Political Transformation of Gulf Tribal States: Elitism and the Social Contract in Kuwait, Bahrain and Dubai, 1918–1970s. He is a lecturer on the history and economics of the Persian Gulf states at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of Haifa. Dr. Yanai is Co-Founder of the Forum for Regional Thinking, a Middle East think tank. |
