Next in MediaCentral’s series of briefings and tours during Operation Protective Edge: a visit to the Eshkol region near the Gaza border (and a look at one of the terrorist tunnels – pending IDF approval).
Many residents of communities near the Gaza border returned home – and rockets and mortar fire continues. The Eshkol region, the hardest hit group of communities bordering Gaza, is also the most populated area of the region, home to some 15,000 residents living in kibbutzim, moshavim and villages. The area continues to absorb rockets and mortars, some of which have killed and wounded people and caused serious damage.
The tour will highlight the psychological and humanitarian effects of the ongoing rocket fire and terror tunnel threat, and how community leaders and residents are dealing with the situation.
