 The regional situation in the Middle East seems to have grown more tenuous. In the south, Gaza is preparing for a “March of Return.” In the north, Israel’s borders with Lebanon and Syria are volatile. Looming over Israel’s regional security concerns is Iran. Meanwhile, US President Trump is moving the US embassy to Jerusalem causing tension in the Palestinian population. Deputy Minister Michael Oren will analyze the Israeli government’s perspective and strategic analysis on the recent  developments. 

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Michael Oren is a former ambassador to the United States. He is an American-born Israeli historian, author, politician, and current member of the Knesset for the Kulanu party.  He holds a Ph.D. in History from Princeton University. Oren has authored best-selling books, articles and papers on the history of the Middle East.
