Beersheva, the capital of the Negev, is well on its way to becoming the Cyber Capital of Israel. CyberSpark – a government-funded high tech and cyber security complex recently opened is expected to include dozens of cyber companies alongside IDF military intelligence units and the Ben Gurion University cyber research center.
There are some 250 companies in Israel active in the cyber industry with earnings in 2015 totaling some $3.5-4 billion dollars according to the National Cyber Bureau.
Foreign and local firms already operating there include Ness Technologies, Deutsche Telecom, RAD, Lockheed Martin, Elbit Systems, and EMC, as well as a cyber incubator run by JVP, the venture capital firm.
