Amid Promising COVID-19 Vaccination Drive, Israeli Gov’t Imposes Third Nationwide Lockdown – Briefing By Prof. Arnon Afek

Notwithstanding ranking 2nd worldwide in the number of coronavirus vaccines administered per capita, the Israeli government on Sunday evening will impose a third nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of the contagion. Prof. Arnon Afek will analyze the first week of the vaccination initiative in Israel and discuss the decision to implement a near-total shutdown. Prof. Arnon Afek is the Associate Director General at Sheba Medical Center & Acting Director of Sheba General Hospital. He is also the Chairman of the Israeli National Council of Pathology and Forensic Medicine. Prof. Afek is the former director general of Israel’s Ministry of Health.
