MediaCentral tour of the North and Lebanon border

MediaCentral invites you to a tour of the North and Lebanon border, Wednesday, March 14th, 8:30-19:30.

Following the cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hizballah in August 2006, developments in Lebanon suggest, according to most analysts, a serious potential for a renewal of fighting in the North.  (See http://www.ynetnews.com/Ext/Comp/ArticleLayout/CdaArticlePrintPreview/1,2506,L-3369712,00.html).

This trip will enable you to visit the area and see for yourself the reality on the ground, and will include in-depth briefings regarding strategic and tactical military issues including the build-up of Hizballah armaments and the reorganization of IDF readiness – with up-to-date and concrete analysis by former senior military personnel.  Time will be reserved for discussions with local residents, and the trip will include visits to observation points as well as briefings on various historical, geographical and political issues.  (A briefing by a UNIFIL representative is under discussion.)

This tour will provide a unique opportunity to explore the complexities of the situation in the North, offering insightful analysis and factual background information.  (We hope to have time for a brief wine-tasting as well, as it will be a long day….)

A fee of NIS100 will include guide, transportation, lunch and light snacks; leaving from MediaCentral offices at 8 Harav Kook at 8:30am, expected return approximately 7:30pm.

Space is limited – please contact Elad Rubin for more information and to reserve a place, at elad@m-central.org or 054-658-2344.

If you haven't been to the North, this trip is vital; if you have visited the area before, this trip will offer new perspectives on the story.  Space is limited – please contact me for more information and to reserve.
