Special Summer Music Finale
MediaCentral is pleased to invite members of the foreign press to a special summer music finale in the Tower of David.
Experience Israel's funk scene up close and personal: THE APPLES, COOLOOLOOSH, LOS CAPAROS, three great bands, come together for a rare performance in the beautiful Tower of David museum Friday August 21st at 14:00.
Here's your chance to enjoy a party with live music as well as to get exclusive interviews with the bandmembers!
(This is not a MediaCentral event, but interviews can be arranged via MediaCentral.)
And in additon: Members of one of the bands may join this week's TGIT (Thursday 20 Aug, 4pm at MediaCentral) to give you a special chance for one-on-one interviews before the celebrations begin the next day!
About the bands:
The Apples: Over the past Seven years the nine-strong instrumental group has been folding cuts and scratches from every imaginable source into Big Band blares and Middle Eastern elements on top of a raw funk base, baking a thick multi-layered sonic treat. The powerful sound has also reverberated on dance floors, televisions, radios and films worldwide. Courtesy of the 7" singles- "Attention!" and the "Killing" and "Buzzin' About" & "Attention!" L.Ps. Expect the unexpected as the boys march forward. Digging deeper into their countless influences and resurfacing with genre-melting, ear-turning, booty-shaking groove music. The Apples will be playing in Eilat Jazz Festival in the end of August.

 COOLOOLOOSH: After a successful tour in the US and Canada, the innovative band comes back to its native Jerusalem. This hip hop and funk group spent a great deal of time outside Israel in the past few years, touring the world and spreading its groovy and original music. Its unique genre is a combination of soul, funk, acid, jungle, jazz, hip hop and more. In the wake of its media debut, don't miss Coolooloosh on its nationwide tour across Israel as it hosts soul legend Bunny Sigler! Chek out their YouTube video here!
 Los Caparos is a wildly successful mix of cultures, languages and musical styles. The group began its rise in the Russian pub and club circuit in 2004 and quickly found its way into the heart of the mainstream Israeli Tzabar audience. Their music is a meeting of the Russian temperament and the Israeli sun, and from this encounter a new and original sound is born. Combining ska, reggae, dub and jungle in Russian, Hebrew and English, Los Caparos speaks to all audiences in the universal language of music.
