Two-day Field Tour to the Golan
For the 3rd year running, MediaCentral is organizing a unique 2-day tour of the Golan, specifically focuses on issues of concern to foreign journalists. Highlights include:
- Briefing by Border Police spoksperson at the triangular border with Syria, Jordan and Israel
- Visit to Har Ben-Tal overlook (and former IDF fortified bunker) - Briefing with a reserve IDF officer and strategic/military expert
- Meeting with Ghajar village spoksperson and other residents
- Meeting with Golan residents comittee spoksperson and residents
- Briefing at the Golan Model and the archeological museum in Katzrin. - Unique accomodation in beautiful holiday cabins
- Visit to Majdal Shams and the 'shouting hill' and cease-fire line
- Meetings with a Druze family at their home and a Druze farmer in his field
- Wine tasting in one of the Golan's best small boutique wineries
- Meetings with a Jewish moshav farmer
- Briefing about water issues and visit/view one the many JNF reservoirs
Note: Journalists can join for one day or both days; for more details please call Suheir Hashimeh at 054-429-2574. (The first day, Tuesday June 2, will be focused more on strategic briefings; the second day, Wednesday June 3, will focus more on personal stories.)
A fee of NIS 450 will cover transportation, accomodation, meals and speakers' fees. Space is limited to 20 participants; please request your reservation byThursday May 28. Priority will be given to those journalists who have not visited the Golan recently.
